Reminds me of growing up in Alabama. At one point, my sister, one other kid, and myself were the only white kids in our entire school. This same area was completely white when my grandfather lived there when he was younger. My family finally pulled us out of there after a minor chimpout, and we moved to a better area... one that was only half niggers.
I guess my point is that, sadly, this has become so commonplace that it isn't seen as bad or weird by entirely too many people. If I hadn't become aware of how the world really is, I probably wouldn't have even noticed, since it had always been that way for me. For frame of reference in regards to how long ago this was, I am now approaching 40.
