Famous jews who pretend to be atheists are doing it to show the goyim that it's ok to be one and thus undermine the cultures that are related to the goyim beliefs.

Take for example Bill Maher. He pretends to be an atheist so he can mock Christianity, but cohencidentally, never does towards Islam or other religions.
