Sparta is the first society to destroy itself thru ignoring human nature.... the spartanly brought up (lol) spartans were prone to being easy to bribe and susceptable to luxury after the city became powerful, but their real downfall was creating the 1st proto-fascist/commie big state where the CITIZEN (rather then just slaves and outsiders) was pretty much state property. Boys were raised in brutal clubs away from their family I hear that on their wedding night the women were dressed up like a frightened young boy so the dudes could get it up for them....
They had a low birth rate and later the men were away fighting and dying so much that a few rich women dominated the state.
