History is full of "parallel development/inventions". Sometime country X invent something long before country Y but his invention are abandoned, forgotten... Only small number of people know about it. When they die, invention vanish. Then many years after other country region 'invent' same stuff but they develop it, spread it around the world, etc. Chinese already claim couple stuff which are not exclusively his invention. However this article is more funny historical trivia, than proof. btw. did any of you jump from a height with a big umbrella as a child? I guess that only survivors from this legendary jump will be hats.
