why?
Civility is what brought us here to the present.
With all the current problems, getting upset at someone who probably shares many of your values and perspectives, because of their opinion about something that happened (or didn't happen) about 50 years ago, doesn't seem the best use of focus.
I'll repeat it again for emphasis. I treat everything following a 'but' as a lie when I'm dealing with people I don't know.
Because a lie is a form of hostility and shouldn't be tolerated anymore.
The time for civility is over. The time to call out lying motherfuckers is here.
No "buts" and "but stills!" and "what abouts" anymore.
I would argue, but you are right.
