  1. Salem witch trials were driven by a family of carpet baggers from what I heard. They were accusing women and children of witch craft if their families refused to sell their land to travelling carpet baggers. Go investigate that further.

  2. The inquestion I'm not too familiar with. The crusaders however happened because islam had been raping and killing its way through european lands for a century or two, and they put a stop to it.
