True, but... PUBLIC OVERREACTION to Thalidomide unfairly prevented the discovery of Thalidomide being the ONLY KNOWN CURE TO CANCER due to fear of Thalidomide.

People spent hundreds of millions of dollars so far trying to figure out how it cures cancer, so that they can develop a cure for any cancer.

People also want to know how the original researcher got the idea and decided to try it in humans for blood cancer. What a stroke of strange luck. Thalidomide is the first known actual cure for a malignant type of cancer.

remember thalidomide is not chemotherapy (poison) , thalidomide is a very rare and unique actual CURE for cancer. blood cancer.

The simian 40 virus is a much scarier and relevant example IMO. Jumped species during the first polio vaccine, present in 70-85% of tumors in some studies and it's seldom talked about.

Thalidomide is an example of isolating the wrong isotope that ostensibly, wasn't well understood at the time.
