I too lost a friend this way. No joke or topic was off the table. Incest, rape, child abuse, anything was fair game.. then one day somebody brought up the Jews owning slave ships...and holy shit. You would think somebody had shot his entire family including the dog. After ten years as friends we never talked again. Close friends too. Took care of each other when either one was down and out.

Throughout the history, they were often the last ones to be banned from the practice, and some (((historians))) classify the prohibition from owning Christian slaves issued by some of the Visigoth kings (which were seldom enforced in practice anyway) as antisemitic, since it hurt their "businesses and way of life".
