Covid has been rapidly evolving towards higher virulence and lower mortality. Won't be long until it's as mild as every other cold virus, if it isn't already there. I'm sure the powers that be will be looking for a reason to vaccinate against covid as opposed to 200 other common cold viruses in circulatuon.
Everyone I know that's "had it" recently just had a cold that knocked them out for a day or two.
I propose that well meaning people released omicron as a natural vaccine for Wuhan strains
That's my thought as well. Too many things are suspicious about omicron, the biggest one being that it's a descendant of 1.5 year old alpha strain. It's as if it was being cooked in a lab all this time and released only recently.
Oh omicron is definitely another man made species
It was as mild as other colds to begin with for almost everyone. Check the IFR from June 2020. Extremely low mortality in all age groups except 70+. It was never lethal enough to justify any of the hysterical reactions we saw.
Viruses do not intentionally commit suicide and / or self genocide, which is what they do when they rapidly kill the host. They will always evolve to be less deadly.
What the virus evolves towards depends on its mode of transmission. It's generally true that viruses avoid killing the host, but there are exceptions that involve the death of the organism as the vector for the spread. One example is ebola. It kills quickly and spreads through contact with the corpse. It's found in communities that observe certain burial rituals, like those involving touching of the corpse.
Don't disagree, those are in the minority though.
