>A federal judge in California has ordered the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to strengthen regulations for fluoride in drinking water, saying the compound poses an unreasonable potential risk to children at levels that are currently typical nationwide. U.S. District Judge Edward Chen in San Francisco on Tuesday sided (PDF) with several advocacy groups, finding the current practice of adding fluoride to drinking water supplies to fight cavities presented unreasonable risks for children's developing brains.

Yeah, they’ll somehow keep that fiasco going. Smart people are too much of a threat to the world order, gotta make sure the populace becomes even more dumb.

Yeah, for sure. It's a leftover chemical from some common process that they can sell rather than having to dispose of, as well. Even if it did prevent cavities, it shouldn't be put into my water. If I want to fluoridated my water then that should be up to me.

I have two RO systems to filter that shit and chloromines out of the locally government regulated water which has TDS levels higher than the EPA recommends (when asked, 'its just a recommendation; it's still safe').

I have autoimmune thyroid issues and dental fluorosis so I avoid fluoride as much as I can. Just based on my teeth it's clear I have already been exposed to unhealthy levels. As for the thyroid my nature path was relieved to hear I avoided it because she said it mimics other substances and can exacerbate thyroid problems and it can trigger immune reactions and she recommends avoiding it for all her autoimmune patients.

I used to have a well/spring, but now I’m on town water, they don’t add fluoride here, there’s enough natural fluoride in our water, it’s still bad, but not as nasty as the industrial waste they add to other water sources.

I was about to buy a Berkey, but then CA pulled their permit and I was worried about being able to buy new filters and haven’t researched another option.

I love my RO systems. They look intimidating to install but really aren't that bad. I've even moved them from one apartment to another without too much headache.
