Keto definitely works to shed weight, I actually went from 230 to 210 last year doing keto the first half of the year. Plan forward is not keto since main goal is to put on more muscle mass and I think a reasonable amount of carbs pre-workout help since insulin is anabolic.

Been doing keto since April/May-ish because got covid bs and gained weight, and also just wanted to lose weight. Lost quite a bit pretty quickly. Also lost my smell/taste and it still hasn't really come back fully so that helps. Definitely feel a lot better on keto. So does the fiance. I eat less for sure, and we have more energy. And anytime we eat carbs now we feel like slugs. You can't un-feel the effects of carbs after you cut them out.

I ran 8km this morning. I do that at least 5 days a week. Its been a good change of pace from lifting fuck off heavy weights at the gym because of lock down closing them all. I run with zero carbs in me and feel great. Truth

I tried keto on and off over the years. It works but it's so hard to maintain. I've recently switched to CICO (calories in v calories out). It is working great for me. 17lbs down in about 6 weeks. You can eat anything you want as long as you are counting each calorie and staying under your established limit.
Keto and any other diet is based on CICO. You can only lose weight if you are eating less than you burn.
Keto is just a way to try CICO without actually counting calories. Fats are generally better at controlling appetite and thus makes it easier to not snack all day.

Not really. There are thousands of articles out there for you to consider.
My advice is to bookmark carbmanager.com or download the app, plug in all the vital info (height/weight/how much you want to lose) and it will tell you what you can "afford" to eat each day. Then input/track everything you put into your body and try to stay within the the suggested guidelines. After a while, you will not need the app and can do it on your own, but it is the best way to get started in my opinion.
The whole concept is to avoid grains and starch: rice, potatoes, pasta, bread, etc. It only takes a couple of months and then you can go back to eating normal (consciously) again.
