Not only does the submission with the most votes win but the winner will be rewarded with the most votes.
If anyone in my family had any skill outside of linguistics or logistics we would dominate here, promise. Visual art just doesn't run in our blood.
So you're saying the winning team shall be the first team that wins?
you can always try, we would love to see what you can come up with!
linguistics=glowniggerjob
Just pointing that out since you dropped it casually.
I hadn't thought about it. We just really enjoy language. We wrote poetry, short stories, and dabble a bit in longer form writing. I suppose my writing could be described as propaganda of an emotional sort.
Haven't done it in decades, but making "Rübengeister" from beets was part of my childhood.

Neat!
Damn I saw this too late this year.
Contest is open until Monday morning.
Contest ends at 7 PM ET, 5 PM MT.
I may suggest that it be extended to midnight ET.
its been extended
please post away, I just extended the deadline
two questions:
1 - Can the pumpkin be a jack-o'-lantern?
2 - Can the submission be a video instead of a picture?
yes and yes
Define pumpkin. 'Cause most of the big-ass "pumpkins" you can buy to make jack-o-lanternzillas are in fact squash. Rulez and such...
Love carving ginormous squash-o-lanterns!
Are gourds acceptable?
At a former workplace years ago, there was a pumpkin carving contest. The winner was a PAINTED face on a non-carved pumpkin. That ruined workplace contests for me. Carving takes knife skill and the determination to rip out the pulp and seeds to make a smooth interior for the light. I'll consider next year getting back into the tradition of carving. I'm intrigued by the turnip carving post, that would be a fun little project too.
Yeah, painting the pumpkins is just lazy.
I was also intrigued by the carved turnips, they are neat and would be easier to carve vs a pumpkin
