I was just watching a video on how printer companies put a chip in the replacement ink cartridge so you can't use other generic cartridges on the printer or how the coffee machines with stuff like k-cups or nespresso whatever make you use their product refills or your coffee machine can't be used. It's the way they make money, by forcing you to use their product or pay for their service even if you can find the solution without them.
