I do the same with phone calls. If it's from a bank or any other suspicious institutio (an it's not an obvious pajeet scam) I immediately hang up without saying a word, find their official number and call them to check.
So far caught 2 scam attempts this way. They are very common where I am, and it's not only pajeets and nigs doing them.
Sound advice.
lol, pun intended.
I have a policy of not providing any personal information on any inbound calls.
"Is this Mr Lauder" Inbound caller Answer" Who is calling?" "Is the Mr Lauder" Inbound caller Answer" I do not provide personal information to inbound callers"
I've heard they are recording and hoping to catch you saying "yes" to use as proof of agreeing to something you didn't agree too.
Have you heard the guy on ytube that has all these various calls where he simply refuses to acknowledge his name or personal details over the phone to the point were the callers/ debt collectors/ govt official / irs or what ever go through like 10 mins of trying to get him to admit but end up hanging up or disconnecting on him - they're hilarious.
I've had this happen.
They usually say hold please.
And I say for what?
Click.
Whatever happened to identifying yourself to the person your calling?
Scammers destroyed that social contract. They use your courtesy against you.
A lot of this shit is Eastern European organized crime rings. The Ukraine is full of hackers. Russia too. They can fake voice prints now. It can sound like your grandmother calling you, or donald trump.
What if both are dead? Should I be scurrrrrrrd?
