I keep finding more reasons why I kind of want to just buy a steam deck. The docking station basically makes it a desktop replacement as long as you don't need a crazy amount of graphics power. It would be even better if you could use an eGPU with it. I think some people have tested it but I don't remember where that post was.

I wonder how much linux support this has at this point https://rog.asus.com/us/gaming-handhelds/rog-ally/rog-ally-2023/ should be good being amd. I bet you could even install the steam os on it.

I was watching a review of that exact device. Apparently some think its better than the Deck and works just as well. Im not too worried about SteamOS but dual booting would be nice.

It would be nice to have more storage as a minimum especially if you are "forced" to use Windows as your game console like many of us are for some games.

Either one of them looks awesome for cost/power/portability depending on what you want to do. Pair it with a wireless keyboard/mouse and a portable micro projector and it can go anywhere.
