Race isnt even a constant that can me measured. A man has a son to a woman from the country next to his. That son goes to his mothers country. That man has a son with a woman from the country over. That son moves to his mothers country. Etc etc. Its stupid and a waste of time and energy trying to talk about this sort of rubbish.
Race is a bit like species. Both of them are something people like to think are fixed, solid categories, but they can actually be rather fuzzy. This doesn't make them not real or useless, though. We do observe that people of different lineages have different average traits, health problems and responses to health treatments. So you're right, it isn't a constant. I think that idea is silly anyway. However, I don't find it stupid or a waste of my energy. I'm also unsure why you lowered yourself to even have this discussion.
My mother and father was born in Yugoslavia. Their specific part is now serbia. One grandparent was born in slovakia, one in croatia, one in serbia one in checoslavakia. Great gransparents, germany, austria, slovakia, checoslavakia, other parts of europe i dont know the details of. But we trace blood lines to russia and even mongolia. My wifes blood is scottish, french, and some other piss poor northern euro i cant remember.
What race is my daughter? If you say european, then americans are european. Except what race are people who live on the borders of europe and other continents? My main home lands are only 2 countries away from the middle east. Recent politics put hate between turkey and eastern europe so its been a wall of sorts. But it wasnt always like this. There is a high chance i have turkish or iranian blood in me, when i get a full tan i look like i could come from the midddle east.
White Americans can be pretty mixed too. They say black Americans are about 20%, though I have doubts. Some family members say we have French in us, but our last name is Teutonic (which I like to use as instead of Germanic so you know I mean more than German) surname. I still don't identify as French and I probably won't if a test proves it (I'm also a bit of an anglophile). If I don't identify as French, that doesn't erase the heritage. I honestly prefer to identify as American.
Turks like to imagine their related to people's farther in Asia ( think Turkmenistan) but really their genetics show they're quite Anatolian.
I'm rambling because a part of racial identity is social construction. You could identify as all those specific parts in your background, white, European, Indo-European (or Aryan if you feel like explaining that Aryan is the previous term), Australian or just human. We have tests for that you can buy to see your ancestry.
This is what I mean when I say things get fuzzy. I kind of get where you're coming from, but I'm still not going to dismiss the concept of race. Maybe I like wasting time, who knows.
