They’ve conflated education with intelligence anymore. At the same time, they’ve undermined and redefined actual education to where all it really is, is indoctrination and memorization of “facts” (or lies) depending on the subject in question.
But the idea of taking knowledge (facts as you know them) and applying them in order to solve a problem (wisdom) is almost unheard of.
In any case, this is why we have so many “educated”, but stupid, people in society these days. They’ve been told they’re smart because they’re “educated”, so they carry an arrogance that is unwarranted and unearned. They’re not smart enough to know how much they don’t know.
I know plenty of folks who didn’t go to college and are more intelligent than a lot of grad students. I’m sure you all do, too.
I’ve come to view common sense as the real measure of intelligence anymore.
