I suppose that makes sense.Though, I don't think it's better to ask "how many states can a nation contain?"

The post is wondering about different kinds of people in one country. How many nations are in a country may be better using your terminology and is probably what the writer would like.

Human biodiversity (hbd) is the diversity found among and between human populations that has a biological basis.

Admittedly, I can get a bit narrowly focused on race and IQ, like lots of people into HBD. There's lots of data and it's so taboo. However, it is important to remember other types of human groups (sexes, sexual orientations, etc.) and other traits (physical traits, personality traits, etc).
