I went through this one a few years back. I highly recommend it. His latest one is good too. In this book, the idea of a "moral matrix" was presented. He claims his research showed him that people experiencing something outside of their moral matrix was seen as evil ... kind of like why Dems and Repub's see each other as an adversary and can't see each others points

Also interesting was how conservatives typically have a more "mature" moral matrix with ability to see and understand more moral "angles."

A book like this is a good read if you're searching for that thing called "universal truth" as Haidt points out we all get stuck in valleys.

Are you interested in other books of this nature? I can recommend others.

Yes!

Thinking Fast and Slow, by Daniel Kahneman. You'll probably better understand where I was coming from with that "temperance" argument toward success.

Also, the Dan Ariely books are good. (All about cognitive biases)

Another good one is The Theory of Scientific Revolutions, by Thomas S. Khun.

There are a bunch on cognitive biases worth reading as well which will blow you away how much like cattle we are.

Note that all these authors are Israeli Jews. That is probably not a coincidence so be careful with your mind while reading. I think the reason these guys are so good a behavior modification and study is because they have Talmudic training.
