Me too, back in the '60s-70's they were more prevalent, I think, at least in my experience. I don't remember anyone getting shot though.
I was more 80s and 90s, and didn't know any rednecks that got shot either. the only instances i knew of were the early-teen pothead kids playing with a dad's gun. The rednecks....they just seemed to skate by.... good ole boys had some intelligence despite their "hey ya'll; watch this" attitude.

Those were the guys that were fun to be around, hilarious memories for a lifetime!
Pre-teen druggies playing with Dad's guns is a recipe for disaster.
