Criminals using guns (especially Blacks) doesn't do much to promote their agenda. If they were worried about losing lives they would be a lot more focused on things like traffic fatalities. If they were worried about gun violence then yes they would be much more concerned about gang violence. They want more government power, and they want the people they govern to be less dangerous and easier to control.
