It's a good tool and a good price. It's meant for the role, and has non-marring sections just for the task.

You can do the same thing by being careful with a regular file.

But, that's actually not a bad price. I might buy one for my luthier.

The non marring pieces would probably be good, cause I don't need to accidentally file my neck

They're good for fret sprout. Unless you're using it professionally, it'll last you a lifetime - assuming you don't lose it. Good files last a while. They're made out of better steel, which is important. If you're using it professionally, it'll last years.
