Once again, it's time for the FNGT!

If you don't know how this works, click this link (fngt.gq). That link will take you to another site to give you some additional information and tell you about some of our off-site features. That's also the site where we will host the weekly guitar threads, should Poal go down.

NOTE: That site is by invitation only. If you want an invite, and you're a regular participant, then just ask Crazy, or myself.

If you do know what's going on, you probably don't need to click that link - but you may want to, to make sure you know of the other features, such as the archive or a separate forum that's invite only.

Remember, we are guests here on Poal. Let's act like it. If you're interested in supporting Poal, then you can donate.

Well, it looks like I'm opening the thread tonight! That's okay. Welcome to another FNGT. Like normal, we'll go ahead and get you started.

We came really close to having something new this week, but then I was busy with cars and some snow storms. It's currently pretty cold and I'll have some windchill temperatures that'd blow your fuckin' mind. (Where I am, I might see -70° when you calculate the windchill).

So, I have something you've probably only heard once - 'cause it was filed before the /rock directory was even separated into categories on my sharing site...

Avenged Sevenfold - Nightmare (EH #1 & 3; TB #2).mp3 (share.fngt.gq)

Rock on, Poalr Bears! Rock on!

NOTE: My connection IS going to drop out for a while.

Also, it's about -45° (adjusted for wind, so the 'feels like') outside. It's going to go down (real temp) -40° real temp. With the wind, it's gonna reach at least -70° as the adjusted for wind temperature.

It's awesome. It's too bad it's not gonna snow along with it!

Nice harmony guitar work!

That one was all the missus' idea, as I recall. I think it has only been shared once before and quite a while ago.

Glad ya liked it. I've listened to quite a bit of the band's material, 'cause the missus likes 'em quite a bit.

I've heard of Avenged Sevenfold but I don't guess I've ever heard anything by them.

It's a really good name for a band.

Bad ass guitar work. This song is like the new Telstar. They Chinese should be playing this along with their balloon over Wyoming. It would freak the fuck outta Xiden's losers.

As I recall, it was a fun one to learn and play.

wonderful!

Great song. You sang that well. I wrote the chords/lyrics to this out about 10 years ago. Thanks for reminding me about it.

There you go! It may be your first recording, but it needn't be your last.

Was that just recorded on a cell phone or do you have a mic with your computer?

As for your song choice, I've met and interacted with Don McLean. He's kinda a dick.

[–] 2 pts

Cell phone.

Too bad about Don. They can't all be nice.

He lives over in Castine, Maine. He visits a coffee shop downtown pretty much every day.

People bug him during his brunch and I can see that getting on one's nerves. But, he's kinda a dick to 'em.

I mean, if you're a popular recording artist, you should know that people will recognize you. If you want a private breakfast, do it at home.

Nice job...You have a lovely voice!

I spent a little time messin' with a Boss Giga Delay yesterday and I did this.

Nice! I like Boss gear quite a bit.

Hmm... You know what you might like, a multi-effects processor. Some of 'em are awesome.

That and a modeler.

I picked up a ME-50 (img.audiofanzine.com) a few years ago, and every once in a while I pull it out and mess with it.

I need to get it out again because that Les Paul clone is a whole new world of tones.

[–] 1 pt

That's a good pedal. 'Snot bad at all.

And, yeah, a Les Paul (even a decent clone) is a wonderful-sounding instrument.

Now, you need to get another one and use it as a mod platform! Use it to try different hardware, swap out pickups, etc... (That's what a lot of people do with 'em. I did no such thing with mine.)

[–] 1 pt

Sounds really pretty.

[–] 0 pt

Thanks. It's fun to start with nothing and wander up on something pretty.

[–] 1 pt

Nice! Thanks for making Poal your home. Please continue to report all niggers and jews and keep your music White!

[–] 1 pt

LOL Umm... Yeah, sure. I'll get right on that!

Hey everybody. Hope you all are chillin'. I used DADGAD tuning to play this. It flows pretty good with that tuning. I like it. Norwegian Wood - Beatles (soundcloud.com)

Nice work. This song always stood out to me from John's other tunes. That first line lets us know he got fucked.

[–] 0 pt

Sweet! Now there's a song I haven't heard in a while.

Then again, you do that often - it's usually a song I haven't heard in a while.
