The most we have ever got at one time is 24" and the most ever in one season is 10', I dont see any snow in June July August or September ever measured here

I've seen 42" in one storm, though there was like a 6 to 10 hour lull, with just 38" dropped. So, pick your favorite number.

We average over 12' of snow per year. The most I've experienced was a bit more than 21' of snow in a season. It was pretty impressive. We haven't had a winter like that in a while.

I'm watching the Smithsonian channel and it is awesome. The service is well worth the paltry sum of money I send them. I don't want to share the URL in public. I don't want the site getting more attention.

I don't think I have ever seen any bodies of water iced over after April, there may be ice floating in May but you wouldnt call it frozen.

I don't think I have ever watched the Smithsonian channel though it seems like it might be something I would check out

I almost retired to the Tahoe/Truckee Pass area of California. They get 8 to 12 feet of snow in a storm sometimes.

They have roads/storms where they stop traffic and only let certain traffic through - where you have to have chains on the car. They won't let you through otherwise.

But, I was able to get a giant chunk of land in Maine at a much lower price. There's no way I could have bought 3k acres in that area. It just wouldn't happen.

Also, the land here was a whole lot less expensive. Like a lot less expensive. I spent well under $1000 an acre for the property the house sits on.

Plus Maine had a house across the road that I could buy. That put me in the area and able to help/watch while my house was constructed. So, I could be in Maine to retire sooner/easier.

I put a bid in for the property, I won the bid, and I signed for the property a few weeks later.

Then, you can upgrade. I just went with the $7/mo. package myself, as that has more channels than I'll ever need and I don't need any HD channels. They're good anough at like 720p and I'm fine with it.
