Does he just tune to your guitar, use a tuner, or tune entirely by ear?

He's got a tuner, and you know damned well I have a tuner

I know you do. Without seeing the guitar, I don't think I can speculate on why it's going out of tune so quickly.

There are a number of reasons why, from shitty tuners to an improperly filed nut, to how it was wound when strung, to a moving saddle, etc...

He just got a new one like six months ago and he paid like $300 for it, while it does sound better than the ones he had before I simply assumed in played well and stayed in tune, I was seriously shocked and stunned by the playability and the intonation and ability to stay in tune, its not a good guitar.
