Hi guys. I spent some time with my new Les Paul-style guitar this week. Her name is Misha. I wrote a song this morning so you can hear what she sounds like.
The Way You Say Goodbye (soundcloud.com)
I'll try listening tomorrow, but it pleases me that you picked up a Chibson Les Paul. I recall you asking about it a couple of times and, well, it appears as though they're really not all that hard to turn into playable guitars.
If you wanted to, they make great mod platforms. Splurge and buy a $100 set of high-output pickups that will just drop in, and you'll be surprised.
Maybe toss a different capacitor at the tone pot...
Put good strings on it...
Maybe an 'intonated' ToM bridge...
Replace the nut with something made of bone, or a hard composite that's just as good...
The list goes on!
Misha has definitely got some growl and crunch to her and it sounds like she likes to get down and dirty. And yest she sings like an angel when she wants to.
She came up with a great song too!
Hell yeah!
