I think I could, but I can just see myself getting nervous, backing out after buying a shovel, and hitting the little police golf cart that makes its rounds around the shopping center.

I can drive with full attention in a race. I'm not sure how well I'd remain composed with a dead body in the trunk.

I once had to report to a police station where I got busted (later) for receipt of stolen property. On my way out, I backed right into the side of a cruiser. I put it in drive and drove away, never to be caught for it.

(I did get a $300 fine for receipt of stolen property - but I contend that I'd have no way to know it was stolen.)

(It was a stolen firearm, for the record. I had NO way to know it was stolen, but they wanted to charge anyone they could think of.)

(It was a simple misdemeanor.)

Anyhow, that fucker missed the kick.

I liken it to when I have driven after just having picked up some illicit substance. Drive normally and get off the streets

I've done that a zillion times. Hell, I've done that while shitfaced.

A dead body in the trunk is a whole new level.

I dunno if I could pull it off. I can race on the edge, with my bumper 6" from your bumper when you hit the brakes to hit the corner's apex. I can do that while someone tries to cut up the inside - and be fully aware of everything around me.

I dunno if I could do that with a dead body in the trunk. Which is to say, I could probably be fine driving down main street, but imagine if a cop pulled in behind you. Do you keep driving and look for a turn where you can use your directional signals and safely get away from the cop without him noticing?

I really dunno...

LOL This was a hypothetical that we discussed over the holidays. So, I've been meaning to ask for a while.
