Once again, it's time for the FNGT!

If you don't know how this works, click this link (fngt.gq). That link will take you to another site to give you some additional information and tell you about some of our off-site features. That's also the site where we will host the weekly guitar threads, should Poal go down.

NOTE: That site is by invitation only. If you want an invite, and you're a regular participant, then just ask theBuddha, or myself.

If you do know what's going on, you probably don't need to click that link - but you may want to, to make sure you know of the other features, such as the archive or a separate forum that's invite only.

Remember, we are guests here on Poal. Let's act like it. If you're interested in supporting Poal, then you can donate.

Reminder Next week will be our annual Christmas version of the Friday Night Guitar Thread, so get your Christmas songs ready for next week while you still have time!

Hi guys, I hope all is well. I started this song about two hours ago, just started stackin' tracks till I was happy with it. It's named for a lost night in Portland when I couldn't find the fuckin' parkin' garage where I parked my car. I growled at people to make 'em think I was one of them.

That sounds cool. I dig it. Hope you found your car!

I don't like west coast cities. The filth and degradation ruins my high.

I've only been on the west coast once. To Corvallis Oregon for a week for work. I took the rental car to Newport on the ocean just to see it, and I thought it was nice. i had lots of fun in Corvallis

Hello everybody. My friend Chris came over earlier this week and we jammed out for a while. Here is our version of Up On Cripple Creek (soundcloud.com)

I'm not here. I have family over, though I suspect some/all of them may shuffle off to bed sometime soonish. If they do, I'll try to make time to return, but exactly none of you are more important than my granddaughter. Not a one of you! This is also her first time to my home and she's at that age where she can run faster than me.

It almost brings tears to this old man's eyes when I say that I'm pretty sure the house has echoed with laughter since about noon.

Anyhow, I have something special (or not) that I don't think any of you have heard before. This is a BDE (band) recording and I can't be certain about the origin. It was either a soundboard recording at a live show, or was from a rehearsal session. The date on it tells me that it was probably live and I was probably seated for the show (as my femur was still really fucked up at the time).

Alas, my voice isn't quite right. I like to think I did it justice, but there's at least a couple mistakes. I use pedals to add effects to my voice and I was slow getting to them twice. That's another clue that it was live and seated, though I seem to recall doing the middle of that session standing? I'm really not sure what went on, as it was that long ago and I was really high on opiates still. It was definitely against doctor's orders, but the show must go on!

Again, I don't get the voice quite right. It's close, but not quite what it should be. That too indicates that I was likely seated. So, it's not quite what you'd have heard on the record - but it's reasonably close.

Rock on, Poalr Bears! Rock on!

(I'll try to check in later. We'll see how it goes.)

Yow, reasonably close indeed! Great job!

Remember how that single showed up out of nowhere, right when the world needed it?

There are some amazing covers of the song out there. There's a chick version in a Gilliam movie whose name isn't immediately in my head. Zero Theorem, maybe? Something like that...

I can get my voice kinda close, but it's not quite right.

When it was new, the song definitely stood out. What's great is that it also has stood the test of time. That song came out 30 years ago... It's still awesome, three decades later.

It sounds great to me!

I read the date wrong. It's from something else and I now kinda remember it. It also explains why the audience wasn't mic'ed up.

Alas, I'm not gonna type that out right now. So, glad ya fuckin' liked it!

And, fuck you, I'm a rock star...

Excellent, great voice!

It's nice to get feedback!

Don't be mad. Don't be sad. There's billions of women

Alright then, you DO feel me on this!

Man, I finally posted something again.

I enjoyed listening and I was entertained! Thank for sharing again! I appreciate it!

I saw this video on Voat back in the day. I loved the song. Learned it off the video. Should have been a top 40 hit but I guess it wasn't politically correct. Gnome sayin'?
