If it's just me and nobody else involved, well... They'd be idiots 'cause I've got a pistol visibly hanging on my side. But, some folks are stupid. So, I prepare for the stupidest of stupid and hope for the best.

I doubt most people would do anything even if they knew what money you had on you

That's why I carry the 'don't be stupid stick'.

I tend to take out enough cash to cover everything that might crop up, plus any bonuses for employees and last minute gifts.

Take a fast car on a nice day and once you're in the car they wont be able to keep up
