Not yet. The guy told me that he'd be back with $15k within 2 weeks. I told him that I'd sell it back to him if he did so.

At 2 weeks and a day, I'll have the mechanics go through it and probably sell it to a dealer for a few bucks less than what we could get, just for the quick and easy sale. I'll sell it to a dealer for what they'd pay as a trade-in, so 28k or so. Figure everything the mechanics will do is worth less than a grand, more likely a couple hundred dollars TOPS, and I'll have made a pretty healthy profit.

But, they can come back and pay me 15k so long as it's within the time limit.

I wasn't the one who set the fees. That's what they offered.

The truck is in great shape. There's some scratched paint inside the bed, but it's a truck so of course there is. It does have 80,000 miles on it, but that's fine. It's got the plow package and towing package (no plow came with it).

Yup. Hell, I might even have my mechanics look at it just to see if anything needs doing. It's still gonna be a solid bit of profit.

I'm pretty sure the money was being used to 're-up', as though they didn't have enough money to do so. They figure they'll have said money within a couple of weeks, so that could easily be it.

I've never bought drugs from this person, but I've been told by others that he sells. The only stuff I buy these days is marching powder and I've already got a guy for that. This dude is likely just some small-weight dealer, which does kinda explain the number of miles on the truck. He also had the title, free and clear. So, that was paid off at some point.

Anyhow, I made it a point to not ask why he needed the money. I was only interested in the truck. I should probably also give another buddy a finder's fee. I don't really know the dude all that well and it was someone else that turned me on to it. So, I'll throw a few bucks his way after I determine how much I sell it for. That's just the right thing to do and I absolutely want him to think of me in the future.
