Yeah, if you hold off to the day of the trial, you'll get your best offer that morning - unless the DA gave you a time-limited offer. I've known people to go so far as to take it to the day of trial, including going through jury selection and the likes.

Yeah I have known people to accept the plea as the courtroom was being called to order for the opening arguments
