Once again, it's time for the FNGT!

If you don't know how this works, click this link (fngt.gq). That link will take you to another site to give you some additional information and tell you about some of our off-site features. That's also the site where we will host the weekly guitar threads, should Poal go down.

NOTE: That site is by invitation only. If you want an invite, and you're a regular participant, then just ask Crazy, or myself.

If you do know what's going on, you probably don't need to click that link - but you may want to, to make sure you know of the other features, such as the archive or a separate forum that's invite only.

Remember, we are guests here on Poal. Let's act like it. If you're interested in supporting Poal, then you can donate.

The 'silent stage' is all the rage right now. No more lugging in giant amps and cabs. Some even have a digital drum kit.

(I read a lot of TGP posts, which is thegearpage.com.)

Makes set up and tear down a whole lot easier

None of the venues up this way are like that. Well, maybe a few venues down in the southern part of the the state. Nothing up here has that and probably won't have it for a decade, Basically, you're just pushing everything into their PA system. They'll often even have their own mixing board, which you can have onstage or out on the venue floor.

I guess it makes it much easier, assuming the venue has good gear.

Even if they don't have that equipment, folks no longer roll in the stacks or have a big back line. They're playing 30 to 50 watt combo amps with modelers - and keeping the volume turned down to 3 to 5 'cause it's already loud enough.

I would assume that if the venue is going to go to the trouble of having a PA and a board they would at least get a good Mackie board.

Just mic the little amp and run it through the PA I suppose
