Smash it into a speaker after riffing a sick guitar solo

Ok, had to do a truss rod adjustment then tweak the intonation on half the strings. Does have a hair in the finish I can sand out and desperately needs new strings and fret polishing but otherwise I like it. So far so good. Good base to upgrade if I decide to.

Tell us about the sound.

Short test says merely ok. Will do CTS pots and likely some guitarfetish pickups to cure it. Ordered some tuners already.

Nice buy, bud. Buying new (or used) guitars is like Christmas. As a matter of fact, my next purchase is going to be another v. Been checking those solar v's. Enjoy her, bro!

Unfortunately, it’s almost impossible to play one of these while sitting.

V's are literally the easiest to play while seated in my experience. It cradles your leg just like a crackhead stripper.

I agree with this. It's a different feel but I find it comfortable.

You have to hold it almost vertically so the V is on your leg. Not very comfortable or practical. There are better guitars. I have spoken.

Yeah, I hear you. But that is the point, put the notch of the v right onto your leg and it works great, at least in my personal experience. Do you own one? When I am seated on the couch if I use something like my dinky(lol) I run into the issue of my cord being jammed directly into the couch the whole time, so that's why I use a v (usually) while seated. We have now both spoken.

So non-ergonomic, so sexy.

[–] 1 pt

Not true (at least in my case, not trying to create an argument), v's are very ergonomic to me to play while seated.

I don't really like the way anything sits on my lap TBH, I use a strap even seated. Strat shape is best shape though, it has the high fret access, the balance, the ergonomics... and if you get your sustain from gain and don't need a super rich clean tone headless is amazing, so light, so easy to swing around at your desk while you practice/record, easy to travel with. Only real problem there is the somewhat temperamental/complex bridges they employ.

Interesting info with headless, never used one. Thanks for the reply.

I dunno man, he might have some flashbacks and jump out the window, thinking he can fly..

Very nice, if it's your first V, be careful turning, it's easy to ding the body. I've got 2 V2s with the longer top piece.

I passed on a V in the early 80s that had a neck repair and regret it to this day. This is my cheap V to make me feel better over it. What do you mean by 'longer top piece'? The headstock? This is a DHGate deal, I wanted to test them out. Doesn't say Chibson on the headstock which I like in this case.

The top part of the body, anyway, congrats.

Sure does look good.

Bad ass dude. Post some samples of the sound and your playing. I assume you are at least into metal if only the old school kind... Getting a Flying V and all.
