Once again, it's time for the FNGT!

If you don't know how this works, click this link (fngt.gq). That link will take you to another site to give you some additional information and tell you about some of our off-site features. That's also the site where we will host the weekly guitar threads, should Poal go down.

NOTE: That site is by invitation only. If you want an invite, and you're a regular participant, then just ask Crazy, or myself.

If you do know what's going on, you probably don't need to click that link - but you may want to, to make sure you know of the other features, such as the archive or a separate forum that's invite only.

Remember, we are guests here on Poal. Let's act like it. If you're interested in supporting Poal, then you can donate.

You'd think so, but finding all the original rights holders and getting them to agree to a contract would be nearly impossible. Some companies simply won't release the rights. Some companies intentionally won't release the rights so that they can hopefully make more money from copyright violation lawsuits, or so the insiders tell me.

So, sure... In theory we could pay royalties, but in reality that's a non-starter.

Yeah but I think they would release the rights to you! You're theBuddha, a motherfucking Rock Star!

LOL No, probably not... It'd also be a pain in the ass. Often the concept of rights holder is pretty muddied as different companies will have different rights. The whole system is fucked up and, I say this as someone who loves copyright, our entire copyright system is fucked up. For starters, it's way too long. Then, the concept of rights ownership is just fucked, as you may have rights to use a snippet for a specific purpose or you might have rights to reproduce the media on physical media - but you can't broadcast it.

The venues do pay into the system to cover the rights for live performances, but that money never makes it to the real artists.

It's pretty much bullshit and the wrong people are being paid.

Yeah its pretty much a big pyramid scheme, but to get the exposure you have to play the game
