Once again, it's time for the FNGT!

If you don't know how this works, click this link (fngt.gq). That link will take you to another site to give you some additional information and tell you about some of our off-site features. That's also the site where we will host the weekly guitar threads, should Poal go down.

NOTE: That site is by invitation only. If you want an invite, and you're a regular participant, then just ask theBuddha, or myself.

If you do know what's going on, you probably don't need to click that link - but you may want to, to make sure you know of the other features, such as the archive or a separate forum that's invite only.

Remember, we are guests here on Poal. Let's act like it. If you're interested in supporting Poal, then you can donate.

Here is a song where Chris and I were going to play a Guns n Roses song but Verle started singing and so it turned into this instead.

Evil to Get Right (soundcloud.com)

[–] 1 pt

Awesome, sounds like good times...Verle's rockin' it!

[–] 1 pt

Hell yeah he was in high spirits that night

No idea who Verle is but was he drunk or is that just Verle?

[–] 2 pts (edited )

He's drunk and that's just Verle

[–] 1 pt

I love this guy. Full of piss and vinegar. He could sing Bon Scott.

[–] 0 pt

He is quite the character. AC/DC is his favorite, I'll get him to sing one next time I see him

Hi all. I hope everyone has had a good week. I had to go to the Pacific Northwest earlier in the week, and I actually had to take a drive through Portland. Man, the homeless problem there is insane. I don't know how people can live and work around that shit. It's good to be back home.

Here's a song by one of my favorite Franks. This is off of one of Frank Black's solo albums.

Your link does not work!

[–] 1 pt

Are you sure? It works for me since I fixed it...

[–] 1 pt

It works now! Sounds cool. I am not familiar with Frank Black or this song. It sounded like a song from the band Cake to me

My first share. I sort of ripped off the riff from Opeth a little. And it's not complete. And I know nothing about audio recording. Classical guitar through a webcam mic. Enjoy!

Yeah, that's great. Sounds like Roy Clark playing that whatchacallit song that was on an Odd Couple TV show episode.

[–] [deleted] 2 pts

That's about as good a compliment as you could give. Roy Clark is a god.

[–] 1 pt

Yeah, he's amazing. I'm sure you've seen this clip.

I'd see him on Hee Haw and never knew he could play like that.

That part where he does the main riff and tapping on the guitar is real hard. I used to try that but I couldn't do it. Your right arm starts getting tighter and tighter. It looked like his was doing the same thing. Guy has a great right hand.

Odd Couple had appearances from some great opera singers. Filmed in NY so they had access to them. Beverly Sills, Robert Merrill. That's all I remember. They had that little guy too. Wrote "Close to You." Paul Williams.

Great show. Funny.

[–] 1 pt

Yeah, used to see Paul Williams on the Tonight Show.

[–] 2 pts

Enjoyed it greatly nice work

I appreciate that! Will have to record some more.

[–] 1 pt

Sounds real nice. You been playing long?

Thank you! About four years. Kind of feel like I need to interact more with other players to progress any further, so here I am. How long have you been playing?

[–] 0 pt

I been playing guitar for over 30 years now.

COME ON MAN.

This here is a negro spiritual.

[–] 1 pt

Love blues music. I jam hardcore with blues

John Lee buddy guy all 3 kings srv Jeff Healey shit man I get down

[–] 1 pt

Thanks! Now I'm crying in my beer!

[–] 1 pt

LOL I figgered some blues would be, like, cooler than that Al Stewart stuff.

[–] 1 pt

It definitely works!

You sure sound different than the big bopper!

How do I participate, before I ask for an invitation? Just post stuff to these threads?

That's it! Share some of your music with us!

Love you all. Sorry I haven't done literally ANYTHING since back on Voat. I've talked a few times with Buddha and Crazy. I'm not always around, and RL is a mess. I know this isn't me, and a kind of side-track. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aM2wOpYepag

It's a band I adore, tried to emulate. Hum. That glissando octave chord stuff is like pre-pumpkins, and I can't keep up.

I know this isn't FNGT content. I wanted to share what when I play and TRY yo write, this is what I aspire to. It's beyond what I can do alone, and makes me think 100% bands need multiple people involved.

[–] 0 pt

Nice to see you again! Hope you are enjoying your house still. I dont know that band or what chords they are playing. You can write a song with just a guitar and a vocal melody. Heck you can skip the singing entirely and just play a song on a guitar. It's a big giant puzzle to write a song and sometimes there is so much to it that it can get overwhelming, recording a song is even more to it cause then you will most likely be adding other instruments and that adds so many more choices. I like to just write a song on an acoustic first and add the bass lines and drum beats later. Or sometimes I come up with a bass line and try to find a guitar part that compliments it later to add to the song. Its challenging but rewarding if it turns out like you imagined

We are not performing tonight. Too damned cold and I'm too damned old.

So, here's something old - but original. It was Biff's "midterm" a while back. At the time, she couldn't play everything she wanted to play. So, you'll hear a lot of me and her. She also didn't do the drumming, obviously...

Throws horns

[–] 0 pt

Damned right! Glad ya liked it. Hope y'all are holding up okay.

[–] 2 pts

Awesome. Every time you post an original, I wish I could play guitar.

[–] 1 pt

Thanks, but you can play guitar.

Neither Biff nor I are virtuoso's, we just practice a lot. She's also come a long, long ways. I don't wanna brag, but she's got a pretty good teacher!

[–] 0 pt

That woman is rocking the place! Hell yeah!

[–] 0 pt

She's actually not in here right now. I'm sure she'd say thanks. She is otherwise engaged.

[–] 1 pt

You let your wife get engaged? What the hell man!

[–] 0 pt

Hello everybody! Had Chris and Verle over last weekend and we made some glorious noises.

Here is Chris and I playing Renegade (soundcloud.com)

[–] 1 pt

Excellent song. Will check it out.
