It was just a statement to a cop, not a deposition, I had no chance to question them so they can not do that

Hmm... It doesn't matter if you had the chance to question them, rather that someone had the chance to do so.

Which, from what you've said, did not happen.

I'm not sure of the evidentiary rules in your jurisdiction - but you may be right. I can't really offer an opinion.

The judge and prosecutor really did not like me telling them that what they were doing was not legal.

They told me, one more word and you will be arrested. The said leave now
