I'm sorta connected now. It keeps dropping out, even though the storm has passed and it's relatively sunny.

Are you on the skylink or on geosynchronous sattelites?

Geosynchronous. I may splurge and get the Skylink instead.

Yeah, there may well be clouds and storms to your south still interfering with the signals.

I do not know the coverage for the star link, but as long as they have enough of them going over your area you should have less of that kind of interference
