They cancelled the whole project, so there was no job to offer me.

We were even able to finish the project.

They canceled it and not just changed the date?

Hmm... That might make me less angry. I can understand needing to cancel a project.

I was thinking they delayed it and someone else ended up getting the work while you didn't get any work yourself.

I would have been a lot less angry if they had just changed the dates instead of completely cancelling it

Yeah, that'd have been nicer.

On the other hand, with the outcome unknown and a chance to cancel a project before it gets expensive present itself? It may be a good financial move to cancel it.
