They have improved.

i am reasonably okay with eating what they make. They're still kinda rough around the edges, likely because neither of them cooks all that much. J is often here by herself, while Biff has me and hotel fare for a large portion of the year.

I didn't think that Biff had been cooking too much with the hotel having the food

No, no... She does not cook often. However, she now knows how to follow a recipe.
