At his age, I was already pretty awesome on the guitar. The advantage was starting with formal instruction and starting with classical guitar.

I am convinced that you can play any style of music, and play it well, if you're versed in classical guitar.

Hell, I can play anything Rhodes played - as well as he played it, even!

(I am not so sure I could compose as well as he did.)
