Once again, it's time for the FNGT!

If you don't know how this works, click this link (fngt.gq). That link will take you to another site to give you some additional information and tell you about some of our off-site features. That's also the site where we will host the weekly guitar threads, should Poal go down.

NOTE: That site is by invitation only. If you want an invite, and you're a regular participant, then just ask Crazy, or myself.

If you do know what's going on, you probably don't need to click that link - but you may want to, to make sure you know of the other features, such as the archive or a separate forum that's invite only.

Remember, we are guests here on Poal. Let's act like it. If you're interested in supporting Poal, then you can donate.

It was just a tiny hotel - like 12 rooms. They're not gonna afford that. These were just two routers exactly like what you'd expect from your ISP. Hell, I think they were ISP provided, complete with ISP branding on the outside of it. Verizon, if memory serves - but this was a long time ago, like more than a decade.

This place has a giant IT section. I haven't been in it, but I can tell based on where the doors are and where the edge of the building is. I do know that they use a mesh network coupled with access points - with distinct networks for a variety of things. It's pretty fancy and awesome when it works.

They were/are adding other features - like we should be able to dim the lights/change the color of the lights by speaking into the tablet or even speaking into a mic on the TV remotes. It's not surprising that it's broken.

That's coupled with the fiber having been cut - oddly in another part of the city.

By the way, it took me this long to reply due to an outage and inability to connect.

A lot of hotels I have done work in had their IT equipment in the laundry room, not conductive to cooling

This was up in the crawl space above the rooms - not really an attic but an attic type of space but not tall enough for me to walk upright. I had to hunker on all fours like a goddamned gorilla. Ook ook!
