just feels like maybe i'd be hard write a song and have so many choices to make to find a tone. but i do see how having everything makes it easier to grab 4 or 5 guitars and a amp profiler and find a tone direction and good

I do some originals, but mostly I just do covers. The band does no originals. I already have a tone in mind before I start, even if it's composition. So, then I just aim for that.

gnarly. what all you use to make tones of such? harmonist compressor? phaser maybe

You'd have want to ask that back while it was fresh in my memory. I do a lot with echo, chorus, and reverb - with some compression.
