Haha! I've also realized that it's more effective to practice 20-30 min a day everyday vs once or twice a week for a few hours

Those of us that practice diligently kinda dislike it when someone says we have talent.

No, we don't have talent. We have countless hours of practicing to learn our craft.

I'm with you on that. The worst is when you've developed a marketable skill for years to the point that you make it look easy and then you get a client who wants your services for a lowball price.

I'm not sure that people know what to offer.

I'm recognized as a competent member of the Linux community. I'm retired and not seeking employment, but I constantly get asked to do this or that for money. The amount offered varies a great deal, like folks have no idea how I value my time. Indeed, I have my own ubuntu.com and lubuntu.me email addresses.

As I'm retired and need nothing from anyone, my work hours are valued (to me) at $500 per hour. I've had some consulting offers come not too far from that number, and others offering me effectively minimum wage.

The time I volunteer is free. I enjoy it as a hobby. I am recognized by my peers not because I seek employment, but because I always work to learn as much as I can with any subject I'm interested in.
