Also, it probably matters that she's seen her dad in every possible state of intoxication.

So, she's pretty moderate about such things - almost a teetotaler but not quite and not too preachy when it comes to other people. She doesn't give a shit if you or I burn brain cells and ruin our livers. She does care if the father of her child and her spouse does so.

Yeah, she's almost as driven as her dad - in some ways more so. She's more driven in her personal life than I was. She's also far happier with the zillions of hours she puts in than I was, but she loves her job and I just kinda liked my job. I didn't really like working 60+ hours every week. I just did it because I had no fucking choice.
