Once again, it's time for the FNGT!

If you don't know how this works, click this link (fngt.gq). That link will take you to another site to give you some additional information and tell you about some of our off-site features. That's also the site where we will host the weekly guitar threads, should Poal go down.

NOTE: That site is by invitation only. If you want an invite, and you're a regular participant, then just ask COF, Crazy, or myself.

If you do know what's going on, you probably don't need to click that link - but you may want to, to make sure you know of the other features, such as the archive or a separate forum that's invite only.

Remember, we are guests here on Poal. Let's act like it. If you're interested in supporting Poal, then you can donate.

Nice. I still have my first Yamaha GC and have never sold a guitar. (That's amazing for someone in my position!) I've sold amps and pedals, but never a guitar. I've given a few guitars away along the journey, but never sold one.

I've never even pawned a guitar.

Formal music education was "forced" on me by my parents, but I do not regret that and I enjoyed learning. I've taken formal lessons in french horn and trumpet, for example. I've taken piano lessons, percussion lessons, and even some informal lessons on how to play a concert and pedal harp.

I can pick up most instruments and play something that sounds vaguely familiar. Familiar enough to fool a layperson, at least.

But, the guitar will always be my true love. Classical guitar will always be my not-so-secret pleasure. For so many years, I've put in an average of 2 hours per day - of diligent practice. No, not noodling around, but deliberate practice.

Do you have a "#1 favorite guitarist of all time"?

Can I make a request for a future FNGT? Kath stretched out with "Free Form Guitar". EVH did "Eruption". Do you have something like that, something that shows off a chunk of your skills?

I forgot to hit send on this reply:

I don't really have a favorite guitarist. on any given day, my favorite could be all sorts of guitarists.

I once had a site where I wrote whole articles about guitarists who were better than Hendrix, but it got to be a burden so I dropped it from my list of activities.

Hmm...

These are all originals:

Well, the Oatmeal Song isn't really worth listening to. That was just for some amusement.
