no. There are upper timing chain covers on that motor that are readily available. I'll take them off and take a peek down inside there tomorrow

That's handy. I still have the 488 in my garage (instead of over in the barns). It damned well better start when I tell it to.

I mean, if it doesn't start then I'm not gonna be stranded or anything.

I would think it would. Even if it doesn't you can just put your mechanics to work
