Before I did the Mecum collector car auctions, I did a bunch of their guitar auctions.

Plus, I've done countless other auctions. Browsed Reverb for days, spending hundreds of thousands of dollars in a single order. That sort of stuff.

I have more guitars than I can ever reasonably play. I have guitars that I shouldn't even play, like one of Slash's real guitars - not one that he signed as a promo or anything, not a fake guitar that they sign and hang in restaurants, or anything like that...

Why wouldn't you play slash's guitar?

So that I don't wear it out or detract from its historical value.

(I have played it. I don't want to detract from the value, so I think I've played it like three or four times.)

Shit, I have a pre-war Martin D-28 that was six figures. I've played it, but I've been pretty gentle with it.
