Or you could just go to the same sort of event somewhere in the US with one of your cars you have already

The ones in the US tend to be closer to parades than actual racing, plus I want to appreciate the whole event. It's not just about driving, it's about the full Goodwood experience.

I put in for a couple of tickets for next year. If I win, I'll go! I could just pay for the tickets, but this will be the decider.

Yup. I'd like to experience it in person. I'm not sure if I'll ever really get time, but I'll go if I get free tickets! That'll motivate me to attend in person! They're not even worth a lot of money, but they'd help me be more motivated to go. Seriously, the whole weekend is like a few hundred bucks for general entry. So, it's a rounding error in a week's vacation to the UK.
