They're REALLY expensive to replace, so their logic is kinda sound. They get marginally less performance for a whole lot of savings.

I am not a poor. So, I give no shits if I have to replace them. In fact, I bought the cars knowing that it'd be expensive to replace the brake components.

Yeah you don't have to worry about those kind of things at all really.

Don't get confused by the carbon ceramics you can buy for > $100, those don't really do what true carbon ceramics do. Here's the price for pads on my M6:
