I don't think their land speed is anywhere near the wind speeds
Nah... Hell, I face winds in the triple digits at my house for that matter.
That'll rip your roof off!
Not mine, but yeah - it does damage houses. Mine's built well above spec 'cause I looked into that shit before having the house built.
I have mentioned this before, but I'm just a couple of ranges over from Mt. Washington. They hold the wind speed record of 231 MPH.
I see 100+ MPH winds a few times each year.
My windows are special hurricane "proof" windows. They test them by taking a 2x4 and shooting it at the window at 60 MPH. The bolts holding the house to the foundation are about 2x more often and are larger than the standards call for. Shit like that...
That said, if you don't affix it to the ground, you're gonna lose it. If it's not heavy, the wind will take it. I've had it rip a couple of weather stations out of the ground. My kayaks have been tossed into the woods from the wind. My chicken coup is on a concrete pad with J bolts holding it in place, as is my woodshed, tool shed, garage, etc...
231 MPH...
I don't see that, though I theoretically could. If you look for Mt. Washington online, look for the "chain house", which is a house chained and anchored into the stone. The giant chain goes over the roof in a couple of places to keep it from blowing away.
